In 2016, The Harbinger Foundation Board decided to focus efforts on two challenging areas within Canadian Indigenous communities: food security & nutrition and youth & culture.

This program supports the ongoing development of healthy communities through:

  • Better access to fresh, nutritious, affordable, locally sourced food

  • Supporting the strengthening and reclaiming of culture, essential to healing.

  • Building respect between our peoples by encouraging interaction and educating about Indigenous issues.

Because this program is labour intensive and consists of small grants ($5000-$15,000), Tides Canada has been contracted to manage it. We feel honoured to be working with Tides Canada and with all of the Indigenous projects that are doing amazing work for their communities.

How to Apply

Tides Canada is the managing partner of the Harbinger Foundation’s Indigenous program. Contact Antonia Taylor at Tides Canada for more information.

We have two granting periods during the year, September 30 and March 30.
